Sportsmen for Habitat is a 501-c(3) non-profit organization organized to promote the protection and enhancement of wildlife habitat, the quality of wildlife management programs, and America’s family heritage of hunting and fishing. SFH focuses on habitat protection, enhancement, and acquisition, predator control, and reasonable management of hunters. These three issues combine to produce quality fish and game animals on public lands. SFH accomplishes results by empowering local chapter members with the financial capability to work with game and fish personnel, Forest Service and BLM managers, and private landowners for the benefit of wildlife and sportsmen. “Our success is in the appeal we have with sportsmen who are genuinely interested in improving wildlife populations and increasing hunting opportunity for everyone,” said Byron Bateman, President of SFH. “Creating and maintaining local control of wildlife management, our grassroots involvement, and keeping the money and power in the state where it is generated are the key.
